A Brief History…

Business technology strategy firm Remarkable Wit, LLC took root in late 2007 as an incubator for innovative Web-based ideas and a lab for the exploration of technologies poised to create new value in enterprise. Launched by longtime IT thought leader and former Emma Director of Technology, Marcus Whitney, the firm rapidly attracted projects that required sharp fitting of technology to novel business models to power them to fruition.

One of the initiatives, online learning community Moontoast, caused a stir in the investment community well before its introduction last year at South by Southwest Interactive Festival. Sensing the project’s potential under Whitney’s technical direction, investors recruited him to serve as Moontoast’s CTO.

Whitney continues his role as CEO of Remarkable Wit, which now focuses on the introduction of searing edge open source technologies to business leaders in Nashville and beyond and the exploration of their bottom-line value to both enterprise and innovation. Its flagship initiative, an Enterprise LAMP Summit for CTOs and a Big LAMP Camp for developers, will debut in Nashville on Nov. 5-6 and Nov. 7, 2009, respectively.
